Scratch Built Thomas A. Edison Steamboat

Recently completed a scratch build of the Thomas A. Edison Steamboat. The model is built from plans by John L. Fryant. The original plans were for a model at ¼”equals 1’ scale, however, I thought it would be too small to show any detail. I rescaled the plans to ½”equals 1’. I’m happy I did because it looks much better at this size, approximately 47 inches long and 11 inches wide.

A very nice build of this Steamboat! It is always a pleasure to see a model build from plans. Also when it is a rescale from a Fryant plan.

It is nowhere as nice as your Robert E. Lee. I did use your build log for ideas on how to do things on the Thomas A. Edison. It was a great help.
