Greetings from grey UK, finally joining up after lurking for 4+ years.

Have built 9 boats and ships from Occre, via Vanguard, a spot of scratch, onto the amazing Amati 1:10 Riva. Been fallow for a couple of months trying to decide what to do next.

i love the tinkering and scratching of the the larger boats and was either going to scratch build a Thames or Medway barge ( I was born in Rochester uk, so a Gill boat was alluring), but overnight started to look at the 1800 Pinnace from Mantua.

however my want is source material and I’m now deep in naval cutter territory trying to find historical precedents to base a build on. A couple of links brings me to this site, and I’m diving in with no safety gear.

look forward to reading and sharing.

as a scientist, spelling is optional at best, apologies to one and all in advance for errors…

I’m betting you’re good at math and formulas. Always in need of good science people. Welcome.
