Shipwreck on the Beach.

The most difficult part of this was to find the right position on the base for all the ship's cut up sections and have them look right.

This diorama is completely my own work a handmade piece using only hand tools and natural materials scrape wood(some from other builds), sand, leftover foam insulation, linen line made on a ropewalk, etc. It is what you might call a folk art piece. I always wanted to do this type of modeling so it is now or never. Admiralty Models were built this way with no electrical power. Band saws and the like were still far into the future. A few modelers are still doing it the same way but they are few and far between.
In the past, I made a few duck decoys and the fellow that taught me still used an ax to shape the bird much like the 1:1 boat craftsman of yesteryear.

The above pic is an overall view. I am finishing up the base and adding more sand at the sides(not visible here). I will some other pics today of the sides.
