I can recommend Syren, even though i'm only part way through. It is a good intermediate because you practice all the skills you'll see on a typical plank-on-bulkhead kit. Planking, painting in authentic colors, deck work from strips, coppering, building out the deck furniture with the plans from scratch and then extensive rigging. It also comes with 140? page manual with lots of pictures and other forms of support to get you through it all. The plans suggest a well-though out building order. It makes it to advanced if you opt to add more detail, especially to the rigging. About the only thing arguing against it is it's all basswood. But it's mostly painted, so multiple airbrushed layers with some sanding in between can make things look pretty silky. Proper brushing technique is also good.
I don't know much about the other model, but always consider the manual. A manual can make an intermediate into an advanced intermediate all on its own if it's not easy to understand, not well laid out, or inaccurate. It doesn't have to have 140 pages like a tutorial, but I'd rather have a better model for the extra effort.
IMHO
