I have a nice book on the fishing schooners of the USA.. and it shows samples of making masts and spars from multiple boards.
I have the trio from model shipways on back order and have passed the time reading the online manuals.
the manuals have sensical issues i wont discuss here, i plan to discuss things i have issue with when i start building them.
But what i can say is that the masting and sparring of them looks like crap as designed. The little mast/spar shaping cradle is cute as can be, but the solid wood aspect seems wrong, as the way the built in pulley sheaves look so crappy, and would be easier to do if the whole mast was done as a multiple pieces bundle shaped to size.
What think everyone?
