The first thing I thought when I saw those was "good idea, but how do you keep them from sticking and clogging?"

One problem is that to save the planet cotton buds now tend to have cardboard stems

When the tip gets clogged, dispose of it safely, before a whale chokes on it. Seriously.
Do the same with the next one.......
