Some questions about watched threads

Just curious if anyone else has been experiencing this:

1) New posts in watched threads don’t always show up my alerts, and it’s not consistently the same threads. Sometimes I get alerts for any given thread and sometimes I don’t. I’ve tried to get in the habit of checking the ‘Watched’ pull-down menu to make sure I don’t miss anything for too long.

2) In some threads, when I click on an alert, it takes me back to the same spot in the thread rather than whatever recent post generated the alert.

Despite those glitches, I’ll again offer up kudos to Donnie for the monumental job he does keeping this site going.

Same problems. Moderator could not help in the past.

Make sure when you select "watch thread" you also make sure the "and get email notices" is selected.

You can mark for watching and not get emails, depending on your default settings.

It did not seem depend on default settings. Just I do not get all updates emails on watched topics. My own build blog here doesn’t send me all updates. Sometimes I have 16 new messages in my blog which I never got email notifications for.

I have checked the appropriate boxes. I still don't get notifications,

It seems to me that if I don’t click on the “View This Thread” icon in the email I don’t get any future emails until the previous one is checked. Might be just my interpretation but it appears I again start receiving notices for awhile once I do.
