We all love building and I would bet the songs in the title are loved as well. We watched the movie Fisherman's Friends today as it was too rainy to leave the ship and I thought maybe the idea of sharing sea songs we have enjoyed would be a fun topic. This may need to be moved to a different forum, so if the mods feel it a good idea, thanks in advance for helping. Starting with the last first, here goes.

There's a Greek poet whose entire work is dedicated to the sea and the seamen (actually, he had been a sailor himself). His name is Nikos Kavvadias and many of his poems have been set to music by Greek composers and are very popular as songs.

You may get a quick glimpse of his poetic style (with a decent English translation of some of his poems) here

Thanos Mikroutsikos, a music composer, has released an album ('The Southern Cross'), where all of the songs are Kavvadias's poems. You can get an idea of his work by listening to 'The dagger' (one of the jewels of that album):
