The current status of my S.O.T.S. I'm working to finish up the sheets for the spritsail, but I needed to mockup the anchors to check for minimal interference when it's time rig them.
I've included a photo link of her from the beginning, along with my other builds. Thanks for the much-appreciated welcome into the forum.

Just spent way too long poring over your google photo albums, time well spent I feel, I do need to ask though, how do you get such amazing wood tones on the hull and how do you finish the exquisite gold detailing?

Loving these albums mate.

Thanks for the kind words, Buster. For the wood tones, I'll try to simplify, the first illustration shows styrene sanded with 120 grit and based with my go too Tamaya desert yellow, the middle one thinned down a bit. The next image shows all three toned with the same acrylic burnt umber thinned too various levels to give different effects.
The last image I included one using raw umber on the left, and all are finished up with a black wash, the only other color I use sparingly as a highlight is acrylic yellow ochre. I know there's a myriad of other methods out there that work just as well, but this has always worked for me. I use 24 carat gold leaf, after brushing off most of the leaf I use a toothpick and an exacto blade to achieve a clean edge, I do not seal it, hope this helps Mate. Cheers.
