I managed to finish the bow, it was a pain to scratch and I'm angry I had to but it's done! I wonder how much more won't fit?

Started the second hull planking after a bit of research the average plank was 25 foot long so I'm doing 5" planks, going to take a while and I can't see you lot being that interested so progress won't be updated quite so often 
Seems a shame to paint it white
I think it will probably take me best part of a week to finish the second planking, i'm using CA for speed but a negative is my fingers are getting stuck together rather a lot.
Finished for today going to spend tonight un-sticking fingers.

Planking finished and I can't say I'm/ Fingers are sorry going to chill for the rest of today not to sure whats on for tomorrow.

Thanks Paul, perhaps you can all help me decide on the hull ......historically white but I like wood what do you think ?
Of course that's more about personal preference than anything else. But I'm not a raving fan of painted hulls. I have seen it done well on smaller models (several Bluenose builds come to mind) - but I have also seen mixed results on larger ships. Left in wood I believe the imperfections are less noticeable and therefore less distracting. I like historical accuracy - but I like a nice-looking model more.
Truth be told - the thought of painting a fine wood like pear makes me squirm

.Paul I'm with you on this but it's only the waterline and down is painted white and I would fill and sand the painted area

Decided to go with the wood finish
Morning because I'm not painting the hull I have had to plank the keel for an acceptable finish, time consuming but worth it I think!

Morning guys planking of the hull and keel is done, I want to make some small doors next, not on the build instructions but will look good I reckon and a few of the decorations to go on.
