I while a go, doing what I like most, browsing in second hand bookshops, I have discovered this book. Now since chilhood I just loved these type of books. I could page through them hours on end. The book is "Soviet Military Power" by William Koenig and Peter Scofield (1983). In the book I discovered a very interesting chapter, Naval Power (p.42).
Since being a kid the Soviet navy always interested me. This interest was sparked by the grainy photos in the daily news paper of a suspected Soviet ship passing the South African coastline. Often the picture was taken by one of the patrolling Schackletons or a Piaggio P166 (Albatros). So yes the chapter could bring back many memories as well as providing context for the ships I would like to build one day. And one good point is, this book was published during the Cold War. So yes that probably could make most of the information questionable?
