Thanks Gunther. I try to take each step independently...and cleanly as possible. Still more work to be done on the companionways....not to mention making the forward one as well. Still, lots of details to add as I move along the hull, up forward to the forecastle details.Hey Rob,
First of all, get well soon. I've been following your progress pretty closely and I have to say, it's getting more and more beautiful. What you're building really blows me away. Just great and I will continue to follow your build. This clipper is simply beautiful. Your craftsmanship is really high modelling art. You have my respect.
Best regards

Not positive how many the original had....but I have over 100...and can add more if needed. 60 for the buntlines...24 for the braces, and the rest for odds and ends, like jibs , haulyards and such.Hey Rob,
I'm sure you're right. It's simply fantastic. I have a quick question: do you happen to know how many nails (belaying pin) the Staghound has? My question stems from the fact that I would like to build the Gorch Fock II after the Athena. In other words, I still have an old DeAgostini kit in the garage. Of course I will rebuild her and I would like to represent her after the restoration from 2015 to 2021.
According to the plan, the Groch Fock has 212 nails (belaying pin)
Best regards

That’s the truth. No matter how many dedicated belaying points you make available, more are always needed.![]()
Thanks Peter. I too have been a clipper fan for over 55 years. It fascinates me that the challenge for the need for speed was met with sucha beautiful design. The clipper model, especially designed by Donald McKay are my favorite.I'm a sucker for clippers, Rob, and yours is a treat!![]()
