Folks, this is a 3D print that I realized from a set of files on CGTrader. The theme is an AI cyborg creature gathering information and helping the characters of the video game Starcraft. Although I do not play video games, I always found that creature interesting and ominous at the same time.

I have made multiple models with filament PLA printing. Those were described in the defunct Model Ship World forum in great details, as was depicted this model. I have no pictures of the implementation and building phase and will only present the finished model. The hangar (the structure) is entirely PLA/Filament printed on a Creality Ender 3 V2 and the creature with all the hoses and pipes was resin printed using an Elegoo Saturn model. It was actually the first time I was printing resin parts with this Starcraft Adjutant.

The model is glued with CA glue for the resin parts and Styrene Glue for the PLA parts. I used Elegoo white resins and Overture PLA filament spools. About 2 spools and 2 liters of resin were necessary to print all the parts. Painting was done with acrylic paints (sprayed and brushed). The model comes at the scale of 1/5th but I resized it to 1/6th which is a more common scale for figures and to make parts slightly smaller. The access to the license on CGTrader costs about $50 for that model. It took me about two months to finish it.

It is a complex model, due for the most part, to all the pipes and hoses that have to be installed and sometimes tailored to fit. I made some modifications and installed a pool at the base with green LEDs, to secure the parts and various pipes hanging out of the computer creature. Multiple LEDs have been installed in the head (6 of them) and on the shoulders. The entire unit is powered by a portable and rechargeable battery pack.

All the armor plates can be removed to show the internals of the cyborg creature. The plates are held using magnets.

The LEDs on the top of the cranium are flickering LEDs to simulate the extreme computing activity.
