Steel's "Elements and Practices of Rigging and Seamanship"

I've been using this for block and rope sizes and have found it very valuable but I ran across something that is puzzling me.

It says "Guy Pendants" 1 pair with 2 single 10inch blocks.
Under that it has the "Falls" 2 of them with 4 single 8 inch blocks.
I looked at Peterson's "Rigging Period Models" and I see the guy pendants with a tackle on each end. I can't for the life of me find out what the 10 inch block is for. Maybe someone can help me. I'm assuming that "falls" is just another name for tackle.
