Still alive and kicking

I haven’t posted in awhile. I am dealing with a recourrance of an old problem. I have a condition called Degenerative cartilage Loss. I lose cartilage in my joints over time. I have had four total shoulder replacements over the past 20 years ( along with 3. Back surgeries and one knee replaced from same condition), 3 times on the right and one on the left. I am now, after many tests, waiting for another new shoulder for my left side. The joint is so far gone they are having to take four months to “print” an entire shoulder blade including the joint. They told me it would take two months to design from a CT scan and two months to print the new bone. For the last two months I have been one handed and will be for the next two months until I have my surgery. I think the recovery will be another 2 to 3 months. Hopefully by December or January I can get back to building. Until then my current project sits collecting dust. Hope to get back to it soon and will read page to stay. Up until then!!
 
How many things I take for grant until I read a posting like yours and realize how lucky I am. I hope you get back to your hobby and recover fast.

I appreciate all your thoughts. This gives me a full understanding of what chronic pain is and how to live with it. I’m very carefully rationing these really strong pain pills to one a day at bedtime so I can sleep. The rest of the day I sit with y arm propped up in a chair or wearing a sling the rotator cuff is torn also so it’s just less mobility or more pain,my choice. Being left handed and not using left arm means learning to write right handed again. It also makes my typing very slow.
