Table saw and table safety

I saw recently a few member deciding to buy a table saw.

Yes Table saws can be quite dangerous and need total respect when using. We don't want to get blood on our timbers. Timbers can be expensive.

You should apply the no alcohol rule when using.

This one has some optional feature like a featherboard.

A well advised extra to purchase.

This one has a high rise and also the featherboard. You can also buy single featherboards.

I know when I use my table saw with the featherboards I feel a lot safer, not to mention the featherboard is going to help give you a nicer cut.




Another tool to have is a table saw slide. Stay tuned folk it is comming

Another good tool to make for a table saw is a sled. I borrowed these of John's build log and there are more photos of it in action on the build log, Thanks John

The sled has two strips underneath that run down the tracks of the table saw. This one the base is made of perspex and so are the slides underneath. Timber was used at both ends.

I use my Proxxon table saw to cut strips for planking and use push sticks on the top and side of the board being ripped. A four-inch blade can mess-up a nice manicure really bad.
