Hi Jim,
What is happening is that images that have been properly oriented before uploading are getting turned during the upload. I haven't needed to use the attachment editor until this week. It's not hard to fix the turned images - just an extra step that wasn't ever needed previously.
One additional method I'd like you to try is uploading your images using the "Attach files" button versus simply by dragging and dropping the images directly into the posting area. Both options are valid, but they might give us some additional clues as to why orientation issues members have encountered.

I always just use attached files , , lol I don't know how to click and drop . Again my apologies for wasting space lol

That's the way I do it now...

I just attached this image using the 'attach file' button:

This one I dragged over:

On my PC the image appears in the portrait orientation...

I didn't bring this issue to Donnie - I was just making the correction using the editor. But when I saw Donnie posting test images, I thought I was being helpful by affirming there had been a change in the forum functionality. I personally don't care if it just stays the way it is.

Booby, drag and drop is quite simple: just point your mouse at the image, click and hold the left mouse button, then drag the image into the posting area. Once you're there, release the mouse button, and that’s it! The image should upload automatically.

Bingo! Thank you, mon ami. I think we pinpointed the issue. Not sure if it is a software issue or a combination of software and cameras\phones. But...you can use the Drag & Drop feature for now, until we troubleshoot the issue with 'Attaching files'.

What ever my son did to my phone it works OK I think. I was just testing after rigging the foremast crowsfeet lines

while your son is there, maybe time to learn some computer skills -- !!!

I think I said at the beginning, it was the Samsung phone. Maybe one day people will take a little heed of what I am saying.

I had the same problem, Photo kept applying upside down, I even rotated the photo 180 degrees & it still logged upside down ??. The only solution was to change the source from a JPEG to anothet type. this worked ( I think, or maybe someone fixed the problem in the interim)
