Has anyone ever compared the Airfix Shannon with plans of a Leda-class frigate to see how much of a resemblance there is?
The Airfix experts of the collectors' forum are pretty sure that the Airfix Shannon kit of 1954 is actually a copy and rename of the Gowland USS Constitution kit of 1952. I'm not persuaded this is true, as the Gowland kit is waterline whereas the Airfix is full hull. If it is, the model should bear little relationship to a Leda. I'd be interested in what the scale is, though, because the model seems to me to be too big to be the same as the little Airfix Victory.
