Aaaarrrrgggghhhh! Ahoy, Me Hearties! All Hands on Deck!

While there is no historical record of a real pirate ship named The Black Swan, there is a controversy about whether this pirate ship is fictional. It is best known from the 2011 movie Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, where it is referenced as a legendary ship. But hey ho, it doesn't mean you shouldn't build a nice model from the OcCre kit.
Scale: 1/75
Width: 257 mm
Height: 585 mm
Length: 613 mm
Number of parts: 3,342
Estimated build time: 480 hours approximate
Ref: 12012

If there is something distinctive about OcCre from other kit manufacturers, it is their packaging. I liked the look of how OcCre kits are presented; with a color image of the prototype model (printed and affixed) and a cut-off window through which one can see the fittings box. It has been their gold standard for many years.

The side of the printed image displays the technical data of the kit.

Opening the box revealed the contents, where all the parts had their compartments in such a way that any potential damages were unlike. By opening the compartment further we can reveal the parts of the assembly. The first is the comprehensive documentation containing step-by-step photo assembly instructions and rigging diagrams. All documentation is written in 5 languages. The stapled sheets are numbered, however, I am missing sheet # 2 (if one exists) in my kit. BTW, all the documentation can be downloaded from OcCre's website.

The fitting box is next. Again, if you assemble the kits from OcCre once, you will not surprised to see the fitting box. Also, there is a paint reference chart with their name and identification.

Very familiar envelopes usually contained rigging lines, sails set, and Photoetched parts.

... and, of course, the timbers. This contained the plywood, MDF, and precisely cut strips from various species of wood.

Here is what is inside the box a la carte!

The first impression is this should be a great kit to build! If you are familiar with the OcCre's kits you can be assured of the same quality of kit materials and affordability of the Europing kit.
Thank you for stopping by. In a few weeks, I will present the full kit review, where you can see all the details of the kits. As I said earlier, This kit will be also giving away to the luckiest one winning the draw. Details about the draw will be shown after the full kit review.
