Two things in particular attracted me to this little model by Mirage Hobby. Firstly, like HMS Picotee, Anchusa was built by Harland and Wolff, about a year on, and if the kit makers have got it right she shows a squared off stern, giving me hope that Picotee's stern could also have been squared off. The second is her colour; Mountbatten Pink.
Allegedly, Louis devised the colour after watching a flock pink flamingos disappear into the morning mists of Lake Victoria! Mind you, some would say, the only thing pink that the bold Lord ever watched disappear came in a gin glass, I of course would not be one of them.
Any way the wee boat was quite nice to build with just a little fiddling about with a few miss shaped parts and, given her size , quite detailed. Here are some pics and a couple showing her relative size beside a capital ship in the same scale, the other showing difference in scale.
