For those who may be seriously interested in getting the rigging of this cutter correct, there is a rigging warrant surviving from the later 18th century, which lists all the ropes, blocks, hooks & thimbles used to rig a cutter named Kite, and the Alert. It is not dated but the National Maritime Museum has it as being from the 1760s, I believe.

Its reference no. is ADT0252

This is the official list which would have been used by the bosun to indent for all the stores required to set up the rigging.
