Hello everyone,

After many months of work, I would like to introduce the new version of my ropewalk.

The goal of this project was not only to improve its appearance, but above all to increase its precision, reliability, and ease of use. Both the ropewalk and the travelling carriage have been completely redesigned, creating a matching family of tools together with my rope serving machine.

Main Features

  • Completely new design.
  • Smooth and stable operation.
  • Precisely aligned rotating components – all shafts are supported by ball bearings.
  • Rigid construction made from aluminum with brass components.
  • Compact and elegant design.
  • Styling that matches the rest of the tools from my workshop.

Technical Specifications

  • Both the ropewalk and the travelling carriage operate on 12 V DC.
  • Supplied with either a 120 V or 230 V power supply, depending on the destination country.
  • The ropewalk is powered by a 120 W DC motor, providing high torque for producing even very large diameter ropes with a consistent and uniform twist.
  • Maximum ropewalk speed: approximately 2,000 RPM.
  • Maximum travelling carriage disc speed: approximately 650 RPM.
  • The set includes an electronic controller with continuously variable speed control, from zero to maximum speed.
  • The controller also provides forward and reverse rotation for both the ropewalk and the travelling carriage.
  • A connecting cable is included, allowing the controller to be connected to either the ropewalk or the travelling carriage.

The ropewalk has been designed for ship model builders who want to produce their own high-quality scale ropes with consistent and repeatable results.

Every machine is personally built by me with great attention to workmanship and durability. All components have been designed and manufactured to provide many years of reliable service.

If anyone is interested, I build these machines in small batches and can manufacture one to order.

If you have any questions about the design, operation, or capabilities of the machine, I will be happy to answer them.

Best regards,

Roman

Hi everyone,

Yesterday I recorded a short video showing roughly how my Ropewalk works. Sorry that everything isn’t as polished and professional-looking as in a proper promotional video. I simply have rather modest conditions for filming.

Please forgive me for that, but I hope the video is clear and gives you a good idea of how it works.

Best regards,
Roman

How much do you charge and does it come with everything that you need? Is it a complete kit? And last question is how much room do you need for that track? Thank you!
