Thank You kindly, oldflyer. Yes, I had an extensive build log for HMS Camilla - and, saved it. The scale is 1:64.Welcome indeed - Love your new Avatar - we will always remember it
I think that I have seen images of this stunning example over there. I remember it "well" in quotes --
My Admiral questions my current memory haha
BUT add an image of the scale with your hand?? work beyond belief - (I think you exampled the scale back then)
In any your capture of the sea is also --- so perfect....
Cheers,

Hello archjofo. Thanks for the welcome and your comment on my model. I have enjoyed following your build for years; all your work is exquisite. To my "refuge" status, well, as the saying goes: "Don't Give Up The Ship!"...Hi Ron,
so, it's good to see you again.
Welcome to your new refuge.
By the way, that's a fantastically beautiful model.

Thank You Daniel, much appreciated. I will upload some photos of my other models to the Completed Builds gallery.Amazing built you posted. I hope to see more of your work and learn from you. "WELCOME" to SOS.
Cheers
Daniel

Hello Tom. Thank You.Welcome aboard from another refugee! Your models are spectacular.

Missing, but not forgotten!!! Many Thanks mberg.Welcome! As others, I've seen your work before and remember saving it. Though it may have been in now lost bookmarks so I'm saving this again. Great inspiration by a very skilled hand!
INDEED a classic movie and a perfect invitation to allGreat to see you here! Do tell all your friends from MSW that all those guys people thought must have died are alive and well here in SoS Land!
It's like that scene in "Field of Dreams" where he builds the ballfield and then, one by one, all the long-gone great ball players start slowly walking out of the corn field.
OMG! You model is INCREDIBLE! I could stare at that for hours. The water is so perfect and the model is toatlly immersive. WOW....to participating on SOS. I look forward to being an active member of this forum. Lightning does strike twice, apparently, since I also lost my contributions in MSW's previous debacle in 2013...however, I did save my extensive Build Logs from MSW. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. My avatar on MSW was "hollowneck." There may be some members here who may be familiar with my models and particularly my writing for both the Nautical Research Journal over the years and the resurrected Ships In Scale magazine (and blog). I'm excited to contribute to a legacy site with a new group of colleagues!View attachment 596975View attachment 596976View attachment 596977View attachment 596975View attachment 596976View attachment 596977

Thank you kindly, Kurt. Over recent years, I typically - but not always - present my ship models in dioramas. They're fun and challenging to create. And I'm a huge fan of adding realistic working sails and creating their specific rigging. I'll be posting more of my models in the Completed Models forum here over the coming weeks. Earlier today I uploaded several photos of another diorama I've named: "Ongakuka Maru -1720", a Japanese-themed tableau for a period merchant vessel.OMG! You model is INCREDIBLE! I could stare at that for hours. The water is so perfect and the model is toatlly immersive. WOW.![]()
