I started this build on 1/18/24 and finished it on 6/4/24. RCSUBS Photo Etch was used for accuracy. Airbrushed in Tamiya paints. AK washes used for weathering.
Lighting by Small Scale Lighting in the UK. Sound score played from iPhone onto Oonze Angle Bluetooth speaker. Custom base made from Poplar wood. Nameplate & Control Panel Plate done via sublimation onto aluminum blanks.

Hello Jack,

Very nice to see your photos.

Very beautiful, very nice to see the crew and a lot of attention to detail.

Absolute craftsmanship.

Regards
Henk.

That is a fantastic model with so much detail that looks very realistic. Well done!

A very nice depiction of a complex project. It deserves a display case with a backing mirror so the overall magnificence of the entire work can be appreciated. The lighting gives it vibrancy; life!
Then at would really tern heads!

Stunning! Gives me much inspiration and ideas for when I tackle this build. Thanks for the great photos.
I'll have to look around for your WIP as well.

This model belongs in a museum! What gets me the most is that it gives a glimpse how life was onboard, and the space they had to live & work in! Pretty miserable conditions....I could not have done it! From the model, I can sense the smell of food from the cook's galley... the smell of diesel & oil in the heat of the engine room.... the stale air and sweating bodies of the crewmen in the Bunking/torpedo room! They were a special breed, as well as they are today. This model is an assault on the senses!

Thank you Lobo. This was exactly what I was aiming for during the build; trying to depict not only the conditions in each compartment, but to build somewhat of a story line within them whereas each figure provides that in their positioning and body language. I still have additional provisions and things to place in each module that will enhance the perspective. And also a "Thanks" to all others who have commented. I appreciate it! Beer

****Update**** July 1, 2024. Lobo, guess where it's going? A Military War Museum in Miami !!

Great level of detail .. well done

Great job, congrats!! I watched the movie 3 or 4 times and find your work so accurate, not only as a model, but even in the atmosfere and suggestions your U-boat portraits.
