This is an old thread, but I don't think lists like this ever get dated. So...here are two more recommendations that I have found very useful and enlightening:

Karl Heinz Marquardt "Eighteenth-century Rigs and Rigging" (Conway Press)

John Harland "Seamanship in the Age of Sail" (Naval Institute Press)

Both of these books are worth the price!
