Well, after over two years of searching, I have found a 3-D resin kit a very obscure subject; the submarine Papanikolis of the royal Navy used in World War II. It had a very interesting career. My father spoke of this submarine often speaking of how she constantly invaded Italian and German forces as she continued sinking Axis shipping and performing other operations in the Aegean. She became a great source of pride for Greeks throughout the war as news would come of her sinking a German or Italian ship and escaping. She survived the war. Her sail is on display in Piraeus, Greece.
The cost was fair, yet, as it was shipped to me from Greece, I had to pay equally as much in shipping and import tariffs thanks to the recent changes in US policy. I am holding back on construction until I can practice my resin skills as well as working railings as the kit does not have them. As it was a pricey acquisition, and it is being built in memory of my father, I want to do the subject justice.
