USS Arizona - Hobby Boss 1:350 with extras by Ronald61

Hi all,

After my Vikingship build here the next build; Arizona. The kit has some history and sat in my stash untill early 2018. I bought the Eduard models Big Ed set and a Artwox wooden deck. Started building and found it needed metal barrels from Master Model which I ordered through Super-Hobby in Poland. End of januari 2018 I was this far:

Then it became january 2021 and it sat boxed on my shelf:

Hmmmmm.... time to go on! End of 2021 we would have the 80 year anniversary of Pearl Harbour, what a deadline to have?:

The work done untill that point; Did all the sidewall-PE:

Untill this week, it started to itch. The vikingship build was ending and 2026 would give us 85 years PH! So Ronald thought; let us start again!!

Mmmmhhhh... interesting. Should be possible to finish her december 2026!

That’s a great ship model. I built this in 1/200 scale myself using aftermarket 3d printed components.

Very nice work on your Arizona. I see you got a good supply of photo etched parts. I have an Arizona and a USS Indianapolis waiting in the wings. I am sure I will enjoy and learn a great deal from following your thread.

your rudder appears to be to long, take a look at Sheet 3 - Outboard Profile in the link i posted. i presume you are not going to add the 8 docking keels to the bottom of the model being you have painted the hull? how are you going to do the 2 bolted plates on the main deck that is between the #3 14" gun turret & the break to the upper deck as shown in Sheet 8 - Main Deck as it is wood covered not bare metal?

@ Jim; I do post on multiple forums with my pictures. So with a payed Flick account I can do that without the restrictions of those forums. For example deeplinkig from one forum to another that would boost the data on the first one. And that is not what they want.
I know you keep good care of my uploaded content And aware of problems in previous years with for example Photobucket.

@Davidp : I will look into that!

Sorted out so all is right under my hands. Allthough I have airco on the attic it is warm here momentary (temperature outside almost 40 degrees celsius). The airco needs some service so no building today and tomorrow.

even tho the picture is 1927 before modernization, it does show the outline of the bolted plates covered in wood.
