The only issue that I have with this kit is that the Spar Deck does not include carronades. Yet, I believe that the USS Constitution originally mounted 9 lb carriage mounts but then the paint colors should reflect her very early in her career.

I think there are several things that are different. Triangular sky sails might be one of them.

They would be pretty small. Half inch, maybe.

Yeah? Make small parts! You have to limit the details, but you'd be surprised what you can do with some simple hand tools.

These sakers at the front of the forecastle are 5/8" long... they work. (Well, the don't SHOOT but they look good!)

True. I have never read of triangular sky sails until your earlier post. That is not to say you are incorrect, only that I have never encountered them. My readings could be incomplete.

I might do so. If you reference the 1/196 Revell model, those carronades are molded to the deck. However, the builder could "guestimate" a fairly accurate starting point for scratch building. I also believe that Revell once manufactured a "mid-sized" model that would have been closer to scale, but somewhat smaller. It merits a look.
