Hello Everyone, Welcome to my build log. I am building the USS Crowninshield Wickes class destroyer. The reason I am building this ship is because a great Uncle of Mine, was the Lieutenant Commander of the Navy and commanded her in 1933. From what I know he was part of the ship building dock yards in the early 1900's that oversaw the construction of these ships and the instruments they used. I decided to begin work on Memorial Day while finsihing up the Emm C Berry I have had for many years. This will be slow progress with my schedule but hope you enjoy the thread.

Reading the history of this ship, I do remember the famous attack on the dry-docks, having seen an old war movie about it.

I never knew the ship used was an old USN destroyer given to the RN.
