Hi!
I have been reading this forum a lot over several months and it’s time to not be a stranger anymore.
My name is Balthazar - I live in the San Francisco Bay Area though am originally french.
I started ship building during the pandemic in 2020, with the Scotland by Corel, and 0 previous experience… I was naively expecting the kit’s instructions to be self sufficient. It has been a fun adventure to discover, try things out, make mistakes, and realize I needed to learn a lot more to do stuff properly. Out of all the forums out there, I find this community the most special - everyone is so kind, it is a true pleasure to read. I am very grateful for all I’ve already learned from you - special thanks to AllanKP69 for regularly sharing the 4 part series on hull planking from Chuck Passaro. It’s been a game changer for me.
I have 2 young kids and am not particularly skilled to start with, so progress is slow.
I look forward to contributing and taking part in the discussions.
Cheers!

Welcome also.....
I feel the same way - I built my first about 4 years ago. It was an Artensania Latina Swift-extremely frustrating when rigging and sails. The forum talked me off the ledge. It turned out OK even though I just don't respect that model.... The only wooden boat since then has been a Midwest Canadian canoe, Also fun and it turned out well.
A Bluenose is next....
Soon....
