Re sourcing blades for plank cutters....
Box cutters, scalpels, Exacto type knives all have bevels on both faces of the blades. What we want to get a right angled cut on a plank is a blade with a bevel on one face only. With the other face flat right to the cutting edge.
I made my own cutting tool, along the lines of the popular and capable but expensive Ultimation Slicer.
But I could not find a local source of single bevel blades.
Eventually I asked a friend who is a professional vinyl and carpet layer if he knew where I could buy single bevel blades.
"Sure" he replied. "I use them every day". "How many do you want?"
So I bought a pack of 100 blades. See photo. 2 wooden model ships later I think that I have used 2 or 3 blades.
And they are ridiculously inexpensive when purchased from trade suppliers.
