The Victoria was the first ship to sail
around the world. It was one of 5 ships that left Spain in 1519
under Ferdinand Magellan. Captained by Juan de Elcano it
was the only ship to have made the circumnavigation.
Magellan was killed in the Philippines by warriors under Lapu Lapu.
It was lost 50 years later in a voyage to the Antilles.
