Hello again!
I finally decided to make my Viking ship - it's been sitting in storage for years.
A very nice model to work with, which allows for a lot of refinement and detailing.
Greetings and a Happy New Year!3.jpg4.jpg8.jpg9.jpg11.jpg14.jpg15.jpg16.jpg18.jpg19.jpg21.jpg23.jpg26.jpg27.jpg31.jpg35.jpg36.jpg44.jpg46.jpg47.jpg50.jpg52.jpg53.jpg54.jpg57.jpg

Wonderful job on this plastic kit. It shows that plastic can often create more realistic wood than "real" wood. Were all the shield designs provided as decals?

I'm building the Billing Oseberg 1/25 kit version. An Xmas present....Or punishment!
I will be putting a build log together if anyone is interested...

For now a couple of pictures of the models current almost completed state.View attachment 514337Just finished the rigging....after a little swearing. Not as easy as I thought!View attachment 514338
The oars are waiting for the paint to dry before fitting.

Yes, all the shields are from the kit. There are decals for them. I was very hesitant about putting them all on, because they are too colorful, but after I aged them a bit, they fit well. Because of them, I decided to make the sail red - to correspond somewhat with the shields.

I have the same kit in my stash, somehow, I don't think mine will look as good....

Very nice indeed! Could you please provide us with more detail about construction of the display case? Fair winds!
