Welcome Messages

It is great that new members receive welcome messages when they join the site but each personal welcome occupies a lot of space with the avatar and build records of the sender accompanying variations on "Welcome aboard". If all 20,000@+ members sent such messages the site would need a lot of cloud space! Could we not have a "welcome" emoji that members could click? The new member would receive alerts that identified the sender which he/she could follow up for more detail of the individuals. One often has to scroll through many welcome similar messages to get to the next post from the new member that might elaborate on their initial introduction. In the absence of a new emoji a "like" might suffice.
Just a thought.

Thank you for the thoughtful suggestion! While it's true that welcome messages may take up some space, we actually see them as a valuable part of what makes this forum feel personal and supportive. A warm welcome from fellow members adds a human touch that many newcomers really appreciate, it helps them feel seen and part of the community right from the start.

We understand the concern about readability, and using emojis or "likes" is a creative idea that some members may prefer. That said, we're not too worried about space now, and we'd rather preserve the spirit of hospitality that defines our forum. After all, a friendly start can make all the difference.
