What are these?

Hi all, I'm currently building the Santa Maria from Amati and I got to the masts and got to these things. Has anyone an idea what those are? Noting gets tied to them in the instructions? (Rather bad and inconsistent instructions I must say.)
Is it some kind of bellaying pin.

They are called Kevels, they are used for tying off lines, hope this helps you,

I could imagine that two of these elements are together one of these belaying "horns" (sorry I do not know in moment the correct term)

Looking at this photo - please be aware, that Amatis (master)modeler made a bigger error and installed all blocks wrong (the hole for the running rigging is wrong)

Oh yea, now I see. Odd design for sure. Now I have the terminology, thanks. Now to find how ropes where actually fastened to them. The photo seems a bit weird. Not using the ''horns''.
Thank you for the quick answers. I hope I can understand the rest of the rigging. I do not understand the Italian plans, nor the italian and french instructions.
And as far as the english instructions go, not even an a4 for the whole build. Thank god for the pictures even if they are inconsistent.

I think that these Kevels were used for tying off larger lines, see pics below,

Wrong, as just in upside down. The hole should be on the top side?

I marked the correct location with red dotts.



In reality such a block has a turning wheel inside over which the rope is running

oh yea, what I thought. Was not so far yet, but would have noticed. I worked on a real sailing vessel that had modern blocks, but they had a wheel inside them and were indeed flipped the other way as compared to the pictures.
I really do not understand how a company makes these mistakes, shoud they not know better?

The device called Kevel (kevil, or keval)
A "kevel" on a 16th-century ship was a sturdy, horn-shaped piece of wood, usually secured to the deck near the ship's bulwarks, and used as a tie-down point for mooring lines or heavy ropes.

I mounted simillar kevels to the Dolphyn from Corel.The delivered pieces for making this parts were very brittle and thin,so I had to make new pieces using ash(fraxinus) wood.(attachm.)

I built this model last year, you have to first assemble the 2-parts for each kevel.
