I thought some member might find this interesting, if not earth shattering. While studying the RMG drawing of BristoI (50) 1775 I came across something that I could not explain. I thought it was on the hull at first but it is actually part of the stove. It looks almost like a hinged door but the things that could be hinges didn't look right. I checked out the drawing of Isis (50) 1774 for a comparison and got my answer, I think. It is different on the Isis drawing but easier to explain. Please correct me if I am wrong but I am guessing it is a sliding door that is removed to empty the ashes from the stove.

Thanks
Allan
