Heya! I got these two model ships because a family member was clearing out space in their house so gave em to me, the one that looks like a much less modern ship with the cannons and whatnot was passed down by their grandmother, so I'm especially interested to know if it is a rare model or something, not to sell them because I really love how they look, but more just because it would be cool to know.

I cannot speak for the schooner, but the second one looks to be a decorator model which were made by the hundreds, if not thousands. This was someone's fantasy, more like a cartoon ship rather than anything close to reality, but as you like it and it has sentimental value, enjoy it. If it could speak it probably would regale you with a thousand fun stories about its time with your family. :)

I would have to agree with Allan about the second boat being mass built decoration, with plastic shrouds and railings.

Does the first ship have a name listed on stern (back), which might help identify, it is a much better built kit for sure.

Unfortunately no, looked all over it and couldn't even see any sort of stickers, let alone text. If it helps in identifying it, me and the family that gave it live in Australia, their grandmother did too.

the blue hulled gaff rig is also a mass produced decor piece, display and enjoy them family pieces are always good to keep and reflect on past ownership
