ZEEHAEN 1639, 1:37.5, Dutch fluit from Dutch Explorer Abel J. Tasman by Marcus

Hi,
Thanks for all the comments and well wishes.
I do read some of the built logs, and look at lots of pictures.

Part 2 of my present life and then I will stop.
I drink all liquids with a straw, that would be beer, jenever, gin, etc.
All food goes in the food processor till it has the consistency of baby food and Barbara has to feed me.
I also have a "PEG" Tube for the intake of liquid medicine.

Hi Marcus,
I read your post a couple of days ago, but to be fair, I didn't know what to write to you. Words literally fail me. What is the use of a disease like the one you have. I cannot think of any religion that can offer a satisfying answer to that question.
I can only say that my thoughts are with you, Barbara and the rest of your family.
Be tough.

Hi Marcus,

I have run into you on the dutch forum several years ago. Your accurate explanation how and why to build a ship were very nice to read and the pleasure you had building and writing was obvious.
There are no words to find how unfair this all is.
We all could do nothing but whishing you all the best and strength you need. This also for your family and good people who surround you.

Love, Rob

@Ab Hoving, @Peter Voogt and @Robberdebop.
Thank you for your kind words.
My wife and I call it the "Stupid":) disease. There is no pain. I do feel touch. When I eat and drink, I taste everything. My brain is fully functional.
It's the neurons that die making the muscles non-functional.
At any given time, there are 600,000 people worldwide that have this disease. it is considered somewhat rare so not a lot of research is done.
There are many different types of ALS, and I have one of them.
Thanks to technology, I can communicate with others and with other tools surf the NET and write this post with a head mouse.

Thanks for reading,
Marcus

Dear Marcus. I am so sorry to have read about your medical condition. At the same time, I tip my hat to you for not giving up and trying your best to lead as "normal" a life as is possible. That is commendable and serves as an example to us all to make the most of what we have!

as the other said, I hope you enjoy this day and have a great birthday Birthday-Cake
My best wishes and joy
