ZHL Black Pearl Finished with the help of Herbs Ships

Finished my Pearl here are some pictures, I’m a novice but I like what I have accomplished. And a special thanks to Herbs Ship and 3D printing in Kennebunkport, Maine for his a help with the figures. If you need 3D printing give him a call great service and a great guy.

Great job, I started the ZHL all-sealed version, may you give me some tips for coloring the hull

Thank you Makkor, I’m a novice myself, but how I approached the finish of the ship.

1. Spray painted the ship flat black and (all the small items before assembling)

2. Sanded away the black paint enough to create the weathered and worn look
Less sanding in some areas and more in heavy foot traffic area.

3. I used mostly pigment pastels for the rust, corrosion and patina looks

4. In some spots I used tiny brush and paint
