Zvezda Medieval Ship Thomas

I dislike have to hand brushing on larger parts because of some streaks it can leave, 15 minutes masking for 10 seconds of airbrushing.....

Finished the boat and all the doodad's that when in her, US Coast Guard Approved. I fixed the anchors and will last them up tomorrow proper, I used Syrene Cable rigging for the anchor lines - just absolutely perfect scale lines and ropes, I'll be using Syrene Rigging lines for all the rigging as well. Small boat has mast, sail, oars, water barrel, and bailing scoop.

Set the foredeck, stepped the mast and secured the mast 'jacobs' ladder. I used a 1/60th. scale figure I had laying around for reference, I placed some barrels just for deck decoration, I'm going to order some crates and bags for the merchants.

Anybody have a source for boxes, bags, sacks, barrels, etc. for merchant ships? I want to add some scale deck cargo

Test fit the rudder and ladder placement, added a few rope coils, I'm waiting on some 3-D prints deck debris (boxes, bags, sacks, etc)

The 3-D printed deck cargo came in, the barrels are a bit too big so I'll cut them off and replace them with some wooden one I have that are slightly smaller. The sacks are perfect, as are the small boxes and rope coils. Be about a week's worth of painting. These few items really add a good detail to the model. Still need to find a few crewmen to add as well.

Those barrels aren't too big; what you need are several smaller ones to compliment them.
You'd be amazed how big they could get.
Have a look at Dafi's recent 'Victory' barrels.

OK, I'll take a look, the smallest I have in the one in the photo, I'll hit hobby lobby to see if the doll house sections have any.

Got about an hour in yesterday, starting to prep the deck cargo, applying base colors, then will drybrush wear and give it a good Blackwater-shadow wash.

Got a bit more done this morning, I won't be posting for another week, I fly out to Chicago later today to attend the WEFTEC Conference on water and wastewater treatment.
