I am building Le Soleil Royal (ZHL) for my daughter. She loves the bling, and this ship sure has it. It will sit on her huge mantel above her fireplace. I'm looking forward to the challenge. The details of the pdf on the accompanying CD are amazing compared to the instructions I received for my Constitution from Billing Boats. I can't wait to start, but I must finish the Connie first!

Well, it is a great ship and will be a great model, for sure! Your daughter the luckiest one: she has a great father, for sure, and will have a nice model. Two in one!!! :)
...and I am will watch your build as it will progress. Enjoy!!

Hi Vfordyce,

I love this ship. I will be watching closely, with anticipation. I hope your daughter has the patience for the time it takes to finish such a substantial project. In my experience, my daughters @ 5 years old had no patience, @19 had some patience and @ 30 have more patience than I do, ROTF ..... Regardless, I've loved them always and they me.

Wish you great progress with your build!
Cheers,
Ken

My baby is 40 now. She’s looking forward to it. I just hope I have the stamina. Sleep

Yes, sir,
I feel lucky I have daughters that understand and love me, AND have the patience I am still learning to develop. All that aside, I'm really looking forward to your build V. Thanks for sharing!

Ken, do you have a build log for the Santisima Trinidad? I wasn't able to find it.

No, I did not start one. I've got other priorities currently in my life that would possibly interrupt my progress. So I didn't feel I should start one if I could not commit to regular updates. If things change I may open a log from the point of progress.

Exactly, Ken!! no need to start the log from the beginning, we would happily follow the progress from now, onward!! I think many members would want you to start the log. What do you think?

Looking forward to it,Ken. I’m still plugging away on my Constitution. I’m about to build my mizzenmast and then the sails. I’m also writing a Storyworth book about my life for my daughter. She wants to pass my stories on to her grandchildren. Her boy is now 13. I hope to see her grandchildren.

By the way, there’s no commitment here to feed us something every day. We’re a bunch of voyeurs who love watching other people’s handiwork whenever we can. So please feel free to post whatever and whenever. (The Admiral says,”Preferably about ships.)
