Additional information:

Joachim is the author of a very interesting book, which he issued resently.
The title of the english version is "The color blue in historical shipbuilding" and "Die Farbe Blau im historischen Schiffbau" of the german version

In some time (after reading) I will be able to make a detailed Book Review to show you the content - but definitely it is looking like a real interesting read

Another very interesting contact is Eugen Troppmann, who made several plansets of different Caravelles and other ships of this period.
He showed a very detailed set of the Nina

But also he showed an extremely good set of sails, which are produced and made by a russian friend of him (Oleg Seregin) per order.
Very fine and thin material, all lines are sewn and not painted !!! - Really amazing and extremely good - and I think I will order one set for my La Salamandre.

As I understood, Oleg has all sail-plans of all "ancre-ships" - so he can directly start based on his own drawings.

I am in direct contact now with the producer of these sails and will inform you as soon as I have more information....

Take a closer look at these sails

Joachim showed his project of the Le Fleuron in scale 1:48 - very well constructed and the model will be a wonderful example based on the drawing set made by our member @G. DELACROIX

Off course also my La Salamandre was with me in Hattersheim........but I did not made new photos of the model.
Only once we compared the size of the La Salamandre and the Le Fleuron, both built in the same scale of 1:48

It is looking like, that my Salamandre is a launch of the bigger 64-gunner

Uwe,
re the article on the sails in this thread above: I am also impressed by Oleg Seregin's workmanship on the sails. Does he have a website address?

Trevor.
Hallo Trevor,
unfortunately, as I know he has no web-page, but I will send you in a PM his e-mail address, so you are able to contact him.
