USS Delaware 1819

Your thread title is Uss Delaware 1819 not 1817,I also could not find any record that any moderator renamed the thread title on this forum ,maybe was on a different forum?

This is my fourth of 11 US Sailing warships planned (search ships sunk at Norfolk harbor 1861) I am currently also building the USS United States. I am 1/2 done with the starboard shrouds, done with the port on her. Will be doing ratlines (UGH!) soon. I can if you wish start a build log on her as well. I have literally dozens and dozens of photo of The United States as well as my two previous builds, the Pennsylvania and the Columbus. I work in 1/72 scale by the way.

We painted Tecumseh before football games...now evidently not PC today. Why, not sure? Nice work on your model!

Not much progress on the Delaware. Tore m left shoulder rotator cuff and need surgery. I cannot hold my left arm/hand up in place long enough to do even one ratline row. So, until then I am working on the Germantown, the Columbia and the Raritan. The Germantown and Columbia have seen significant progress, so. I will post to their threads.

Using photos of the painted Tecumseh from the Naval Academy's public relations office I carved this for my Delaware model.

Amazing work! Little Tecumseh trivia: On the way to final exams, we threw pennies and tried to get them into his quiver. If it went in, you were "guaranteed" to pass the exam! Sorry to hear about the shoulder! Blew my knee out skiing 9 weeks ago but after aggressive physical therapy, am back on the slopes, one more time this year, in Breckenridge, CO.

Running rigging is now mostly done. Only the davits to install and rig. I am putting rope coils on the pin rails now. The anchor assembly will go on soon, and I am making the ships boats, gun port doors, and rudder now.
