Nice adaptation, though I am curious as to why you wouldn't just by a metal working Centre lathe, is it a cost thing?

Yes. It's all about the money. Paying 500 to 900 euro for something that I don"t use much and takes a lot of space? This mod for the proxxon is just below the 100 euro.

Today I finished the upgrade of my Proxxon DB250 wood lathe. I did it like in the first post and I can tell it works

I already lengthened the lathe by installing an extra ground plate and now I installed the precision XY table.


Extra brass plate to get a better fix to the table



needed to adjust the nut to fit in the slider



Made a small tool holder for my 3 mm chisels



Adjusted the toolholder by 2 mm. To make sure the chisel ends in the middle of the object to turn.






It makes the job easy on small parts, I will test also other materials like brass for example. I think that will do the job to.
