There is an English version of this book. But I'm Dutch and like this one.

"Nicolaes Witsens scheeps-bouw-konst open gestelt" by Ab Hoving

with 412 pages in dutch

is the book

"Nicolaes Witsen and Shipbuilding in the Dutch Golden Age" by Ab Hoving

the english version you mentioned?

when I check my english book which has only 310 pages and no drawings included, so I guess it is a different one ..... Maybe @Ab Hoving could explain this shortly for clarification......

I think it is the same book and the same drawings. Just more pages. That is because: We Dutch people like to talk a lot and use more words to say something. :pROTF

Today a new book to my collection De 7 Provinciën of the autor Dik incl the drawings. A big book to hold. Sorry no picture, today I'm a little lazy.

My thanks go to Rüdiger @Lucius who sold me his Euryalus books volume 1 and 2 with an additional CD on which he saved everything on PDF file. I would like to thank you again for the very nice conversation with you Rüdiger and the super fast handling of the deal.

Today I was very pleased to receive a book in the mail, which I have been trying to add to my library for a long time. The previous owner took great care of the book over the years and she made sure it was well packaged for Transatlantic shipping. I have great respect for books and this is in wonderful condition :).

I know Uwe @Uwek made a review of the book some years back so I will not repeat that here suffice to say it lives up to it’s reputation.

Three books that came through the post this week and one 'Working Boats of Britain - their shape and purpose'. It seems as though local and working boats have largely been ignored in this thread, so I thought I'd do a little to correct that. A few more will follow later.

I'm afraid that probably not now...
The author of this book is currently on the front line. And the director of the Khortytsia National Reserve is now fighting for his native city of Zaporozhye. They don't have time to deal with books now...

ARCHITECTURA NAVALIS MERCATORIA

The Classic of Eighteenth-Century Naval Architecture by Fredrik Henrik Chapman

ARCHITECTURA NAVALIS MERCATORIA by Chapman

One really important first source first published in 1768, a remarkable collection of sophisticated line drawings offers a fascinating treatise for model builders, naval historians, and maritime enthusiasts. Documenting merchant and naval ships from various countries, it features 70 illustrations that chart vessel dimensions, crew size, storage capabilities, and manner of rigging.
A great book
