1/150, ADLIB-1, SpaceSHIP, scratch build, WIP

G'day Peter
It's amazing thing we find starched away, waiting for a mind like yours, to give it a new life. So to speak.
Happymodeling mate.

Really amazing - I am glad that you are posting this in the forums. It would be interesting to see how you would do in CAD. Have you considered learning. If you do, I can point you to TurboCAD. It is great for things like this to model from until you build it.

Thanks for complement.
I had considered CAD, decades ago, when I thought about a drafting carrier. But that soon pegged out, because I knew I would get bored with it very quickly.

If I really need to present a set of plans to somebody else, I prefer to use Microsoft Paint. Only because I am used to it.
If I need to present a perspective illustration (3D) I prefer to do that by old school methods (paper on drawing board) because I use false perspective (altering the vanishing point) to bring out more realism, which (as far as I know) CAD and other software cannot do. Have used perspective software for images, but they still have their limitations. Luckily, I don't have to do any presentations with my models. So ruler, compass, and freehand will do. Most people don't have too much trouble understanding what I draw (if they can already/normally read plans).

Also, CAD and other software takes time to master, even MS Paint. But since I don't need to master any, I won't bother.

Not much has been happening here, just a few minor bits.

Used a yellow card folder to make the stripes.
Painted the transformer's circuit board yellow.

Stand for the rod, and made a warning-clear zone for where the transformer will be.

Your micro brushing skill are superb, mate.

How big are these figures anyway? About 4mm high.
The details are extraordinary!

Well mate, you will be disappointed, because the figurines a three times bigger (12 mm), but thanks for the complement.
My hand is not shaking anymore like when I first started painting small things several months ago. However, if I get impatient with them, they get a smudge equivalent to a bucket of paint over their head.

I'm not disappointed mate, even at 12mm high, the details are still extremely amazing.
Glad that your hands are very steady.

I have several ideas, for this build, running around in my old noggin.
Similar to the polarized glasses, they are ideas not yet modeled. But have full intentions to manifest them (in time).
Thought I would share some of them now. You never know when one's time is up. ;)

Been collecting plastic tags, used for sealing bread bags, for printed circuit boards/cards.
The idea is to include a Rubix Cube for the computer. As the scale shows, it is huge. A real retro look about it.

Discovered an old door security peep-hole. It has a fish-eye lens which allows it to be very close to an object yet show it as if farther away.
Plan to have the tube attached to ADLIB-1's hull. Those who wish to spy / look through the tube will get a surprised view  of something that will throw a spanner into the workings of the ship. :D

I am sick as a dog. Aching all over and can't get warm. Hot showers provide minuscule relief, but keep running out of hot water.
Just spent the morning sleeping in the sun - that helped. Now the sun aspect is gone.

Will have to re-read my Phantom Comics again, which I do when I get sick. My mind cannot handle anything complicated. . .only picture books.
What's the name of the Phantom's dog?

I am signing out for a while.
Cheers.

G'day Peter
Hope you feel better soon memattie. The phantom had only a pet wolf named devil. That is all I can remember. They were a great series of pictorial books, don't use comics, that's for the oldies mate.
Hopeyou'right soon mate

Thanks maties. Illness is subsiding.
Funny how the body works so hard when it's ill, as if it is at war with the enemy (bug/virus/etc.) When illness starts subsiding, I know it won the war, so now it is recovering its losses. And it does all this automatically - fascinating.

Your body is fighting hard to beat the bug, but He is also there, fighting with you.
Again mate my condolences to you about the loss of your dear friend Muz.
Keepwell
