Good afternoon. I purchased this kit two years ago. It's been sitting on the shelf since. This is kit #8. I'm currently building another ship, but I finally decided to start building this ship to break up what I'm currently working on. Thought this ship has been sitting on the shelf too long.

The kit has 3 small boxes with clear plastic lids. They hold all the small parts. The lids have holes in them. So... there are small parts scattered everywhere. Hopefully I still have them all!

My instructions manual only has about 90 pages. I've been reading through the other Bartolome builds on SOS and read that the manual has been updated. While reading through the build logs I saw that 'Pathfinder65 (Jan)' had the PDF's and had offered to another member. I wrote Jan and he supplied the PDF, which included the updated build instructions (194 pages), the parts listing and a 7 page PDF with the large sheet line drawings. thank you Jan.

The kit comes with the small 'ships boat', which is also a kit. Before starting on the ship, I'm going to build and paint the 'ships boat'. There are quite a few tiny parts, so may take me a while, Plus it will give me some practice using the airbrush to paint the boat. I only have a little experience with the airbrush, so looking forward to seeing what kind of job I can do on the boat before airbrushing the ship.

I might start the ships boat build tomorrow.

Welcome. Remember Lakedaisy, those ribs are so fragile even when paired and joined so handle with the utmost care. The whole little boat soon gets to be quite strong once the initial shape has been reached.

I'm looking through others builds for ideas on putting the 'ships boat' together. Will list them here later for anyone interested. There are so many absolutely beautiful build logs filled with wonderful ideas. I'm still looking through them.

Not to distract from neilm's great build... I found something beautiful, not related to ship building, but beautiful resin kits neilm used to make. Post #9

The only ships boat construction I found was this YouTube build. Videos 30-33. Sailboat model

I forming the floor grating (Pavel calls this a 'fish') to the curve of the boat. The fish is much wider than the notches in the ribs. I began widening the notches. I've broke 2 ribs so far. Need a new plan. Maybe sand down the fish quite a bit or try to cut notches in the side of the fish?

I can’t remember mine fitting that badly. Without being rude, you have put it in the proper orientation?
It’s all fixable anyway, go gently!

Ha! Yes neilm. I fitted it the correct way. I even tired fitting it the incorrect way to see the results. Didn't help. I finally fitted it. Haven't glued it in yet as want to spray the frame first.

neilm... did you dilute Pavel's dyes before airspraying? I asked Denis at Pavel's site and he says that Pavel doesn't dilute.

Hi Lakedaisy. No . Straight from the little bottle.

Thank you for the offer Robert. Pathfinder65 had previously sent me the updated PDF of instructions and plans. And Denis from Pavel's office is sending me the full sized plans that I didn't get with my Bartolome kit. So, I should have what I need.

Hi all,
I would like to know about the years this galleon was in service (launch and end date). I just want to make sure this version of the galleon is within the time frame I am building galleons. You all know there were many galleons names the same.
Bill

Hi Bill. I can't answer your question. And very few visit this build. Please let me suggest you post your question to one of the forums which a lot of people visit. You have a much better chance of getting your question answered.

At the top of the page are several tabs. One is labeled "Forums" This lists all the forums within SOS.

I think a good forum to post your question would be...
