Hello friends
Little update regarding stern decorations. I've finally fitted all windows and pillars, so completion of stern is getting much more closer.
I still need to do some touch ups and fitments, for now I can present you freshly baked name plate:)

Resin print is great technology. To get such level of details one would have to make at least 1/48 model and also have sculpting skill. Only down side is getting a wood like look is hard to do with paint(unless it's gold or white). Whereas with wood you just put some oil on it and the effect from natural color of wood is just incomparable

Hello friends,
It's been a while since the last update. In the meantime, I have been busy with several different projects. This may not have been ideal for completing the model, but I certainly had fun and learnt new things.

My new model requires;) new machines so laser cutter and cnc mill are being put to good use.
The first thing I wanted to make was the Knee of the head. I spent some time trying to create it using only the CNC mill.
However, I found that combining both machines produced much better results in less time. Or, at least, less wood is wasted.

As in life, nothing is perfect, but I was able to surpass everything I had done before using a band saw and sandpaper. Unfortunately, a small mistake cost me the whole element.One of the supports broke off, the clamp couldn't hold it firmly enough, and the rest is history.

I almost joined Team green matt, but one of the best modellers I know uses a blue background, so I haven't decided yet:)



The funny thing is that before I put the oil on, I didn't notice anything different about it. After the oil had dried out, the difference is only visible from certain angles.

I couldn't compress the video, but at least you get a nice screenshot. Nothing fancy is required for tapering the knee of the head.
