Big Ship model ! I think the laser burned decking was a mistake. Granted you don't have to use it and can place your own but jeeze.

Deck elements, gratings, and jointed decorations are impossible to clean. In 1/48 scale, this would permanently damage the wood. From a distance, it's not a problem, but up close, it's incredibly painful. I understand doing this in larger scales like 1/72 or 1/84, as the burn marks are small, but in 1/48 scale???

Why companies moving in this direction???
Seriously, introducing cheap laser cutting into the model is a complete failure. I thought only deck boards and decorative elements were burned, but gratings, sails??? Yeah sails... Come on, let's be honest... deep FFFFUUUCCCC...
First boarding Santa Ana, still 10/10.

Did i mentioned VM HMS Surprise will be a ship without plywood...

Plywood is the foundation of social development. Remakes, remakes. Better tell me how to convert English cannons to French ones. ROTF
You don't...
You ask allen to give you stl files of the guns and you print them in resin 3d printer.

Would anyone be interested in buying this kit and building the model if not publicized by Hollywood.

The movie ship, previously HMS Rose, was originally built by a wealthy and dedicated history re-enactor to represent a ship that blockaded New England During the American Revolution. 25-30 years prior to the period of the movie.

Does this source define the number of stern lanterns, ordnance and deadeyes
HI John

Thanks, you are confirming my thoughts on this kit. I would love AL to confirm it is the fictional vessel from the movie rather than an actual RN vessel from the 18th century. Then at least the kit buyer will know what it is supposed to be and can ignore contemporary information.

Regarding the stern lanterns, I did not mention anything about this, but I think she would have carried only one. Regarding the lights, there would be eight lights at the stern if it was to match the original ships mentioned as well as the three lights for each of the quarter galleries.

Very strange how another HMS Surprise is being designed a we speak
High quality from a UK Specialist who designed the Amati Victory
That what I said,VM models by chris watton
They will release the ship in February or march.
But this is competition and AL is a big company they have big chunk in the market,
most of the People will buy this model rather then wait another few months and pay little bit extra for a premium kit.
Like SR ship

I bought the Artisania Victory Kit
What a disaster
The wood is so thick on the planking that it cant be shaped for the ends of the Inner and Outer planking - should have been warned when i looked at te Video
Cutting the slots in the deck Beams is a night mare
Things like this SHOULD be right on a kit cutting 1000 pounds
Hope the Surprise has decent wood
WAIT for Chris Wattons Model
