ZHL San Felipe 1690 - Ted R

Wetting the frame 12 isn't getting it out.
It was really tight when I glued it so I got exceptional adhesion.
Going to use the wife's hair dryer tomorrow. That puppys coming out.
Reading build logs today. Thanks @Flying22low , you've been really helpful.
Happy modeling

Testing a black vegetable based ink.
Should I be using something else?
Also testing how well it glues with PVA
When I rubbed down the inked area it smudged.
Granted I only waited fifteen minutes, but I'm concerned

I got frame 12 removed. I was surprised to see that I had not made a mistake by not fully seating the frame into the keel slot. In fact, it appears that the slot is approximately 3/8" too short to allow seating frame 12 far enough.
See pencilled area in the photo

The rear deck elevations at the stern are critical as the foundation of the ornate balustrades and rails.
It appears that I might have been mistaken about believing that the elevation of frame 12 was incorrect.
The plans don't provide a side view showing the relative angles of the three decks at the stern.
After unglueing, sp, frame 12 and trying to get part 49 into place it seems I need to bevel the upper portion of the opening to get proper alignment.
I had been under the impression that the three deck pieces should be in parallel. Now I'm not sure.
I'm going to fit all the deck pieces in place and go another step forward to gainare critical confidence before glueing.
I hope to be able to provide the missing side view and maybe dimensions to assist those doing this build after me.
I welcome any input from my fellow modelers who have preceded me.

Someone replied to watch YouTube Adam Hef. I can't find it and now I can't find the message.
Please resend it to me

Something is really wrong here. I already trimmed the front of part 51 to move it toward the bow but the rudder. If I slide part 51 aft the gap at the front is much larger than the amount I trimmed.IMG20251020092659.jpgIMG20251020092652.jpgIMG20251020092646.jpg

Im not confident on the three stern deck levels and their angles. I'm also not confident about the dummy gun locations on these three levels. I'm tempted to glue in the main deck subflooring but afraid it will just make more work, or rework.
I read that some have just filled in between the blocks solid. Unfortunately I don't have a table saw to mill the lumber from the sprues. Working with only xacto knives and xacto saws. It would probably take a week to mill these by hand. I learned only to well on the Bluenose build not to go too quickly down an unsure path. Logic says it's time to stop building and do some study.

Fitted the main sub deck plywood. Can't see why I can't glue it in place.
I want to use thread as the caulking on the deck planks. Sorry @AllanKP69 if it's not to scale. It looks as if it would be easier to do the deck planking prior to install the next level deck.IMG20251020195840.jpg

:) :) Thanks Ted :):):) --We all have different priorities, but this is a hobby, not a passion, for most, and a great way to pass some leisurely time, so fun should come first.

You're welcome. I've read that their is some debate as to whether this ship actually existed. You, being one of our preeminent site historians, could probably answer this question.
